Welcome to GARDENPATH STANDARD POODLES, the online home of Renee Koch and Family. I am also the creator and proprietor of THE QUILTED HOUND where I sew satin Coat Protecting Collars, Waterproof Leg Protectors and Scrunchies. On occasion I also offer Quilts, Stack Blocks, Christmas Ornaments and will soon feature beautiful kangaroo leather braided Show Leads.
I was fortunate to grow up in a competitive dog family. My first fond family dog memories were of our German Shepherd CH Dixie von Aslan CDX (1971 – 1982). Later our family owned and bred Rottweilers. I began riding at age 7 and competing with our Quarter Horses at 14. I fell head over heels in love with Standard Poodles at the dog shows when I was 6 yrs. old, but it wasn’t until adulthood and marriage that I was finally able to obtain the breed I’d so long desired. Standard Poodles have been our only breed of dog since 1988.
We compete in Conformation, Tracking, Obedience, Rally, Agility and have developed an interest in hunting with Poodles. We have titled Championships in Show, Obedience and Tracking. My experience with working breeds and horses has fostered my love and appreciation of versatile Standard Poodles. Although we have been lucky enough to compete successfully in multiple venues, we own Poodles 1st and foremost because we enjoy their company. We can’t imagine a nicer life than the one we share with our Poodles, day in and day out. Their competitive careers are a way to enjoy spending time together. Our Poodles love to learn new things and please us; our relationship with them is the basis of all we do.
I am a member in good standing of The Canadian Kennel Club, The Poodle Club of Canada and SCENTral Ontario Trackers. As owners we are dedicated to giving our Poodles the best care possible. They are raised and live in our home as members of our family and are well fed and cared for. Dogs that feel happy and loved also contributes to achieving optimal health. The quality of our dog’s lives always comes before any show or trial wins.
